Some easy problems on One to one functions

Here below i have some easy problems on One to one function, but in my coming post i will show you how to use graphic representation to One to one function problem.

Introduction to One to one function is already given to you in my previous post where i also used a diagram to understand it better. Now lets go further to solve some simple easy problems.

Problem 1:

Find whether the following function is one to one. f = {(10, 1), (11, 2), (8, -5), (34, 0), (8, 3)}

Answer: The given function f is a one to one function.

Problem 2:

Find whether the following function is one to one. f = {(14, 2), (16, 2), (4, 5), (4, 0), (12, 7)}

Answer: The given function f is not a one to one function.

Problem 3:

Is f(x) = 8x + 7 one to one function?

Answer: Yes

Problem 4:

Which functions below are one to one?

Function #1 { (4,27), (3,18), (4,9), (5,0) }
Function #2 { (1,4), (12,1) , (13,7), (18,14) }
Function #3 { (3,22), (4,13), (6,22), (8,1) }

Answer: Function #2 is a one to one function
